Our weekly recap: This week, we plug Sony’s PSVR 2 into a PC and puzzle over Apple’s alleged headset components.

Playstation VR 2 as PC monitor

The PSVR 2 is fun on the Playstation 5, but what can it do on a PC? A test shows that it can work as a PC monitor under certain conditions. One advantage is the high brightness of the OLED displays.

Apple Headset: Possible components and rOS name leaked

The protected Twitter account “MrWhite128” has published pictures of ribbon cables and other components that allegedly belong to the Apple headset. The components can be folded into the shape of the glasses. Is this the first look at Apple’s headset hardware? Furthermore, the term “realityOS” appeared in Apple’s source code. It has long been rumored to be the name of Apple’s XR operating system.

Will PSVR 2 cause more motion sickness?

Low persistence technology allows VR displays to produce a sharp image during rapid head movements without increasing the hertz rate of the VR display. This technical trick was invented more than a decade ago and was one of the most important innovations in the VR industry at the time, reducing lag and minimizing the risk of VR nausea. A test now shows that the PSVR 2 has a higher persistence than other VR headsets.
